All the info you'll ever need for cycling in the Cotswolds

The Cotswolds are a cycling mecca, with hundreds of traffic free lanes, rolling countryside, well maintained off-road tracks and plenty of watering holes along the way. 

Far Peak is situated in the middle of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) with cycling routes running right past our driveway, including the National Cycle Network.

What about the 'Wolds' - is it very hilly?

We'll level with you...... there are quite a few hills around our parts, but they don't go on forever and most of them are not too steep either. Far Peak is situated between the Coln and Leach valleys and there are some great routes following the rivers. We are also only 10 miles from South Cerney Lakes near Cirencester, which has plenty of child friendly routes around the lakes and rivers.

Who do we cater for?

As most of the routes around the Cotswolds are on small traffic free lanes and tracks, it is a great place for families and groups to enjoy the countryside. We have popped a few route suggestions on our website for you but there is plenty of scope to shorten, lengthen or bypass trickier, harder gradients without having to ever ride on a major road. Our Hire centre bikes are aimed at adults and children age 10+ but we do also hire Tag-A-Longs and trailers for smaller children.

Delivery and Collection Charges

We service many holiday cottages and home stays around the Cotswolds and deliver/collect the bikes to a safe place at the property for a small fee. We can deliver up to 6 bikes at a time within a 10 mile radius of our base at Far Peak (GL54 3AP).

PLEASE NOTE: Bikes on delivery will be subject to a 2 day minimum hire period.  If you book a single day, you will be charged for the additional days hire once delivered.  We also cannot deliver our 'Rad Rhino ebikes' as they do not fit on our trailers.

All bikes can be booked through our online booking system 48 hours in advance, to give our team a chance to arrange a delivery and collection. If you require bikes sooner, then you will have to book and collect them directly from our base at Far Peak.

Meet our Fleet

We have Claud Butler, Dawes and Raleigh bikes and accessories and we check and maintain them after every ride. Our huge fleet is always changing and we are constantly bringing in new models. Each hire is provided with an accessory pack, including multi tool, puncture repair kit, pump and lock to make your journey as hassle free as possible, wherever you decide to ride.

Adult Hybrid Bike

A modern sporty bike with a more upright riding position. Perfect for leisure riding on roads and lanes around here.
£25 per day (£15 per day thereafter)

Adult Full Mountain Bike

NEW 2019, a great bike with  hydraulic disc brakes, 18 gears and full front suspension.  Wider tyres means more grip on the looser stuff and great for the more technical Cotswolds back county.

Adult Electric Bike

The most civilised ride in the Cotswolds!  With a long battery life*, you can really see the area in style, without worrying about those pesky hills, or working up a sweat.

*battery life approx 35-40 miles depending how hard you use it!

Adult Tandem

Child Solo Trailer

Suitable for children age 3-8, this trailer carries one child and has a cover too for rainy days.
